Help bring your campus together: become a YKnot ambassador

Help students turn plans into real connections. YKnot is developing a campus ambassador program for student organizers, creators, and marketers.

People bringing their fists together above notebooks and a laptop on a table.

You know the feeling: someone wants to do something, someone else would happily join, and they never find each other in time.

YKnot helps connect those people around a specific plan. A host posts a line with room for others, people ask to join, and the host accepts requests. The goal is time spent together in person.

We’re looking for students interested in helping grow YKnot at universities in Hawaiʻi and the New Haven area. If you enjoy bringing people together and want to put your communication skills into practice, we’d like to hear from you.

Who we hope to meet

We are especially interested in juniors and seniors studying marketing, media, communications, business, or a related field. Your ability to make people feel welcome matters as much as your major.

You might already organize small outings, create useful campus content, or introduce people who would otherwise never meet. You do not need a large follower count. We want people who follow through on plans and listen to what their fellow students need.

What you would help build

As an ambassador, you would create and host thoughtful YKnot lines, introduce students to the platform, and help newcomers feel comfortable asking to join. That could mean a small game session, a creative walk, or another activity you would enjoy hosting yourself.

You would also help us understand what works on your campus: which invitations get a response, what prevents people from attending, and what brings them back. Creating social content could be part of the work, with participants’ permission and clear disclosure of your relationship with YKnot.

The work offers opportunities to practice community building, event coordination, content creation, and measuring results. We care about plans that bring people together, and the experience they have when they arrive.

How we are thinking about compensation

We are developing a commission model, with a proposed payment of $2 for each qualifying attendee at a line an ambassador creates and hosts. The rate, attendance requirements, eligibility rules, and payment schedule are still being finalized. We will share the written compensation terms before anyone accepts a role or begins work.

We are also exploring potential equity opportunities for selected ambassadors who make a sustained contribution to YKnot. Any equity opportunity would depend on a separate approved agreement, including eligibility and vesting terms. Equity is not currently promised as part of this invitation.

Tell us how you would start

We would like to know your university, year of study, area of study, and the kinds of people you hope to bring together. Share two line ideas you would be excited to host and, if you have one, an example of an event, community project, or piece of content you helped create.
