YKnot Love Incorporated (“YKnot,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates Y🪢 (“the Platform”), an intent-first connection platform that enables adult users to post “lines” seeking romantic, social, or platonic connections. The Platform charges micro-transaction fees for individual actions, including signing up, posting lines, replying, and boosting visibility.
This Refund Policy applies to all purchases made on or through the Platform, whether made via Apple Pay / Apple App Store, Google Pay / Google Play Store, Stripe (direct card payment), or web-based wallet top-up.
This Policy is designed to be consistent with the refund approaches of comparable platforms including Meetup, Bumble, Craigslist, and Facebook Marketplace, while being adapted to Y🪢’s specific micro-transaction architecture.
The micro-transaction model creates different refund considerations than subscription-based platforms. When a user pays $5.00 to post a line, the transaction is complete at the moment the line is published. Unlike a subscription, there is no unused period to prorate. Unlike a physical product, there is nothing to return.
This approach is consistent with comparable platforms. Bumble’s terms state that “generally, all charges for purchases are nonrefundable, and there are no refunds or credits for partially used periods.” Craigslist operates on a buyer-beware model with no platform-level refund protection. Meetup issues refunds only in limited circumstances through its Trust and Safety team. Facebook Marketplace’s purchase protection applies only to physical goods purchased through its checkout.
For in-person transactions and service exchanges arranged through the Platform, the doctrine of caveat emptor (buyer beware) applies. Y🪢 is an introduction platform; we are not a party to any transaction or exchange between users. This is consistent with the approach of Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace, which explicitly disclaim responsibility for in-person transactions. Users are responsible for exercising their own judgment before committing to any Platform-facilitated activity or exchange.
A purchase is considered complete — and therefore final — the moment the Platform delivers the product, service, or access that was purchased. This section defines completion for each transaction type.
The one-time membership fee of $5.00 constitutes a completed purchase at the moment your account is created and you gain access to the Platform. The membership fee becomes your initial wallet balance and is applied to your first line post or first ask to join. It is not refundable after account access is granted, regardless of subsequent usage.
This purchase is complete at the moment your line is published to the Platform’s discovery feed and made visible to other users. Completion occurs immediately upon publication, regardless of whether any user views, unlocks, or responds to the line, and regardless of the number of responses received. Even if you subsequently choose to delete the line, the posting fee is not recoverable. Photos included with a line post are included in the $5.00 fee with no extra charge.
This purchase is complete at the moment your request is delivered to the line poster. Completion occurs immediately upon delivery of your request, regardless of whether the poster accepts or declines. If the poster explicitly declines your request using the Platform’s “Pass” or “Decline” function, $2.50 is returned to your Platform wallet as a credit. Hosts never earn money from the ask-to-join fee; the full $5.00 is paid to the Platform.
A wallet top-up is complete at the moment funds are credited to your Platform wallet. Wallet credits have no cash value and cannot be redeemed for cash. Credits are non-transferable between accounts, expire after 12 months of account inactivity, and are forfeited upon account termination for policy violations.
THE FOLLOWING TRANSACTIONS ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE IN CASH UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES, EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY REQUIRED BY APPLICABLE LAW. THIS APPROACH IS CONSISTENT WITH COMPARABLE PLATFORMS INCLUDING BUMBLE, MEETUP, AND CRAIGSLIST.
| Transaction | Price | Reason non-refundable |
|---|---|---|
| Platform membership fee | $5.00 | Access granted and wallet balance credited immediately upon payment |
| Post a line | $5.00 | Line published and discoverable; posting service rendered including photos |
| Ask to join (if accepted) | $5.00 | Request delivered and accepted; connection facilitated |
| Ask to join (if declined) | $2.50* | $2.50 returned as credit; $2.50 non-refundable platform fee |
| Expired wallet credits | N/A | Credits expired after 12 months of inactivity per wallet terms |
| Credits used in transactions | N/A | Credits are non-refundable once applied to a transaction |
* The $2.50 return on a declined ask-to-join is a platform credit, not a cash refund. See Section 4.3.
Y🪢 does not issue cash refunds. In the limited circumstances below, we may issue credits to your Platform wallet at our sole discretion. Credits are non-cash, non-transferable, have no cash value, and may be used only toward future Platform transactions.
If a verified technical error on YKnot’s part prevents you from receiving the content or service you paid for, we will issue a credit equal to the amount of the failed transaction. This applies when your post fails to publish due to a Platform error, or when a wallet top-up fails to credit due to a Platform technical error. Report technical failures to info@yknot.love within 48 hours of the transaction, including your transaction ID and a description of the error. Credits are issued within 5 business days of verification.
If you were charged twice for the same transaction due to a payment processing error, we will issue a credit for the duplicate charge. Contact info@yknot.love within 7 days with your transaction ID(s) and the date(s) of the charges. We will verify through payment processor records and issue credits for verified duplicate charges within 5 business days.
Note: If you see a duplicate charge from Apple or Google, contact Apple or Google directly as they process payments on their platforms and must resolve billing disputes through their systems.
When a line poster explicitly passes on your ask-to-join using the Platform’s “Pass” function, $2.50 is automatically returned to your Platform wallet within 24 hours of the pass. This credit is automatic and does not require a request. This credit is:
Issued as platform wallet credit, not cash
Limited to the $2.50 return; the remaining $2.50 is retained as a platform fee
Not available if the host does not respond or simply ignores your request — a non-response is not a pass
Not available more than 5 times per calendar month per account
If YKnot terminates your account without cause (not due to a policy violation), we will issue credits for the remaining balance in your Platform wallet. Credits issued under this provision are the exclusive remedy for account termination without cause.
Consistent with the approach of Meetup’s Trust and Safety team, YKnot’s trust and safety team may intervene and issue a credit in cases of fraud or misuse of our payment system by another user. Examples include:
A line poster misrepresented their plan in a way that induced you to pay to ask to join
Your account was accessed by an unauthorized third party who made purchases
Another user used fraudulent means to manipulate your wallet or account
To report suspected fraud, contact info@yknot.love with your account username and a description of the suspected fraud. We will investigate and, if fraud is confirmed, issue a credit for the affected amount within 10 business days. This mirrors the Trust and Safety intervention framework used by Meetup.
IN LIMITED JURISDICTIONS AND CIRCUMSTANCES, APPLICABLE LAW MAY REQUIRE US TO ISSUE CASH REFUNDS REGARDLESS OF THIS POLICY.
California residents may cancel the Platform membership within three business days of account creation for a full cash refund of the $5.00 membership fee. To exercise this right, contact info@yknot.love with the subject line “California Rescission Request” within three business days of purchase. This right is consistent with the California notice required by Bumble’s terms.
The following states require specific disclosures for digital subscription and service cancellations. Users in these states may have additional rights under applicable state law: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, and Wisconsin. Contact info@yknot.love to inquire about state-specific rights. This provision mirrors the multi-state disclosure framework used by Bumble.
EU and EEA consumers have a statutory right to withdraw from digital service contracts within 14 calendar days of the agreement, unless they have expressly consented to the service beginning during the cooling-off period and acknowledged waiving the right to withdraw. By creating an account and using the Platform, you expressly consent to immediate performance of the service and acknowledge that the right of withdrawal is waived for services fully performed. For partially used wallet balances, a pro-rated credit may be available upon request within 14 days of wallet top-up. This right is consistent with Meetup’s EU withdrawal provision.
UK consumers have similar statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. The same conditions and waiver provisions as described for EU/EEA consumers apply to UK consumers.
If you reside in a jurisdiction that provides statutory refund rights not described above, contact info@yknot.love to inquire about jurisdiction-specific rights.

If you make purchases on Y🪢 through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, those purchases are governed by the respective platform’s payment and refund policies. YKnot does not control Apple’s or Google’s refund processes and cannot issue refunds for purchases made through those platforms. This is consistent with Bumble’s approach to App Store purchases.
Apple handles all billing, payment processing, and refund requests for App Store transactions
YKnot cannot access Apple payment records or issue refunds for Apple purchases
To request a refund for an Apple purchase, visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support
Apple’s standard policy treats consumable in-app purchases as non-refundable
For California subscribers: you may cancel and request a refund from Apple within 3 business days of purchase if the Apple subscription was your initial Platform purchase
Google handles all billing, payment processing, and refund requests for Play Store transactions
YKnot cannot access Google payment records or issue refunds for Google Play purchases
To request a refund for a Google Play purchase, visit play.google.com/store/account/orderhistory
Google offers a 48-hour refund window for many in-app purchases; for purchases outside this window, contact Google Play support
Wallet top-ups made directly on the Y🪢 website via Stripe or direct card payment are processed by YKnot and governed by this Refund Policy, not by Apple or Google. For billing issues related to web-based wallet top-ups, contact info@yknot.love.
INITIATING A CHARGEBACK WITH YOUR BANK OR CARD ISSUER FOR A Y🪢 PURCHASE WITHOUT FIRST CONTACTING US IS A BREACH OF THE TERMS OF SERVICE AND MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE ACCOUNT SUSPENSION, PERMANENT BAN, AND REFERRAL TO DEBT COLLECTION.
A chargeback is a reversal of a credit or debit card transaction initiated through your bank or card issuer. While you have the right to dispute charges you believe are unauthorized or incorrect, we strongly prefer that billing disputes be resolved through our support process first.
Consistent with the dispute resolution approach required by Meetup, Facebook Marketplace, and comparable platforms, we require the following process before any formal dispute:
Step 1 — Contact YKnot: Email info@yknot.love with your transaction ID and a description of the dispute. We will respond within 5 business days.
Step 2 — Platform Credit or Correction: If our investigation confirms a billing error or eligible credit circumstance, we will issue a platform credit within 5 business days.
Step 3 — Chargeback (Last Resort): Only if we do not resolve the dispute to your satisfaction and you believe the charge is genuinely erroneous or unauthorized may you initiate a chargeback with your bank. This step should be used only after Step 1 and Step 2 have been exhausted.
Immediate suspension of your account pending investigation
Permanent ban of your account upon confirmation that the chargeback was unauthorized
Referral to debt collection for the disputed amount plus chargeback fees (typically $15–25 per incident charged to us by the payment processor)
Reporting of repeated chargeback abuse to payment processors, which may affect your ability to use certain payment methods
We will not penalize you for chargebacks that arise from: genuinely unauthorized transactions on your account, billing errors on our part that we failed to correct after you reported them to us, or technical failures resulting in charges without service delivery that we failed to credit.
Facebook Marketplace provides that sellers have 2 days to respond to buyer disputes and that Meta may review claims directly if the seller does not respond. Y🪢’s 5-business-day response commitment is consistent with this framework. We do not offer purchase protection for in-person exchanges of goods or services arranged through the Platform, consistent with Facebook Marketplace’s limitation of purchase protection to transactions using its onsite checkout.
If you choose to delete your account:
Remaining wallet balance is forfeited and is not refundable in cash
No credits are issued for any transactions completed before account deletion
Account deletion is permanent. A new membership fee applies if you create a new account
This is consistent with Bumble’s terms, which provide that if you delete your account, any subscription you have purchased will be cancelled immediately, you will permanently lose access to any remaining subscription benefits, and you will not be eligible for a refund.
IF YOUR ACCOUNT IS SUSPENDED OR TERMINATED BY YKNOT DUE TO A VIOLATION OF OUR TERMS OF SERVICE, ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY, CONTENT MODERATION POLICY, OR ANY OTHER POLICY, NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS ARE ISSUED FOR ANY PURCHASES MADE BEFORE OR AFTER THE VIOLATION. REMAINING WALLET BALANCE IS FORFEITED.
If your account becomes inactive for more than 12 months, remaining wallet credits expire and are forfeited. Your account remains accessible but dormant. The membership fee is not refundable upon reactivation after inactivity.
If you create a second account after already having an active account (in violation of our one-account policy), you will not be eligible for a refund of the membership fee paid on the second account. This is consistent with Bumble’s terms, which provide that users who purchase a duplicate subscription will not be eligible for a full or partial refund.
